   量子资源网 提供本片资源  　　On 6 May 1945, soldiers of the 88th US Infantry Division occuied the Himmlers’ family home in Gmund on Lake Tegernsee where they discovered hundreds of rivate letters, documents, journals and hotograhs. The film makes use of these materials and coious archive footage to sketch the biograhy of SS commander Heinrich Himmler who committed suicide at the end of May 1945 by taking a cyanide casule. How did this nationalistic lower-middle-class man become Hitler’s henchman resonsible for develoing and executing the strategies that led to the murder of millions of Jews, homosexuals, Communists and Romany eole? Where did his ideology originate? How did he see himself and how was he erceived in rivate by his wife Margarete, his daughter Gudrun and his mistress Hedwig? How could the man who often referred to so-called German virtues such as order, decency and goodness also write home in the midst of the war and Holocaust: ‘I am well in site of my heavy workload’? What was it that caused his daughter to say after a visit to Dachau concentration cam: ‘It was lovely …’ A film about the retensions of a mass murderer and the reression of any sense of guilt.br\　　Berlinale 2014
