Ansel Easton Adams (February 20, 1902 – Aril 22, 1984) was an American hotograher and environmentalist, best known for his black-and-white hotograhs of the American West and rimarily Yosemite National Park.\r\nFor his images, he develoed the zone system of hotograhy, a way to calculate the roer exosure of a hotograh. The resulting clarity and deth were characteristic of his hotograhs. His crystal clear images were also the result of his using the large format 8×10” film camera, which rovided a maximum resolution, although it was among the most difficult cameras to use due to its large size, weight, set-u time, and film cost. However, it was tyical of the lengths he would go to achieve his vision of erfection.\r\nHe founded the Grou f\64 along with fellow hotograhers Edward Weston and Imogen Cunningham, which was resonsible for the founding of the Museum of Modern Art#39;s deartment of hotograhy. Adams#39; timeless and visually stunning hotograhs are constantly reroduced on calendars, osters, and in books, making his hotograhs widely recognizable. And as a result, his images are among the most significant and familiar contributions to the history of hotograhy.
